15 Components of a Successful Pay Per Click Campaign

For a Successful Pay Per Click Campaign:

When you first sit down to begin a PPC campaign, you are going to make some assumption, if you are smart you will do some research, but ultimately you will create a campaign (or several campaigns) based on a whole slew of variables.

Use the following checklist whenever launching a new campaign:

Bid on the right keywords. Start bidding on the keywords that properly describe your online business, products or services to get conversions and generate good ROI (Return on investment).

Use separate keywords for different ads if there are multiple keywords related to the PPC management project. This will ensure higher clicks and higher conversion rate as well.

Create attractive ad copies. For successful PPC campaigns, the ad copies must be attractive and appealing to encourage viewers to buy your product. In fact, a compelling ad copy is must for any successful PPC campaign.

Create landing pages. Create unique landing page with good call to action features so that the visitor gets to see the product or service directly that you want to sell online.

Set Campaign Parameters: You’ll also need to set all of the parameters for your campaign. These are highly dependent on the business you’re working with, the transaction model, and the assets you have at your disposal.

Never fool visitors. As far as PPC campaigns are concerned, always tell the truth about your business or services. If visitors come to your site and don't find the things as promised in the ad copy, it will lead to negative publicity for your site.

Optimize PPC campaign regularly. Optimize the ad copies along with the landing pages on a regular basis. This will ensure better and higher conversion rate.

Use PPC search engines. To ensure more visitors and better conversions, run the PPC ads on more than one PPC search engines. This way more people will get to see your ad copies which in turn will get you more qualified clicks.

Follow Rules. Make sure your campaign follows the search engine rules as it's not going to work if it doesn't follow the rules. Read the rules, know them and follow them.

Monitor your campaign closely. Monitor the success rate of the campaign closely on a daily basis. Check the response to your ad copies periodically yourself to make sure your campaign is on target.

Understand Your Market. Who is looking for your product or service? Where are they looking? Where is your traffic coming from (which search engines)? You may want to consider tracking software when trying to build a successful PPC campaign to aid in answering any or all of these questions.

Once your visitor arrives, you must ensure that they find what they are looking for and in the words of many marketing consultants; that you are able to guide them to complete actions that you desire.

Setup your Adwords account with proper thought and planning: Google automatically monitor the click-through rate (CTR) of each ad and display the better performing ads more often than ads with lower CTRs. Well structured account is easy to manage and monitor.

Smell what is selling:  If something is not selling even after lot of testing then just leave it and focus on what is working. Don’t waste your time and money beating a dead horse.

Run re-marketing campaigns: Re-marketing campaigns have proved to increase the ROI for many businesses and are almost always profitable.

Never Ignore Negative keywords: You always make sure that your ads appear for all relevant keywords which is a good practice. But it is even more important that your ads don’t appear for irrelevant keywords as they easily outnumber the relevant keywords.

Successful PPC campaigns are built over time, based on market data and performance. Quality scores can always be improved and ads made more relevant. Never stop testing new ideas!
